Q & A With Dr. Feng

When did you know that you wanted to be an ophthalmologist?
I remember it clearly. It was Thanksgiving week, 2005, while taking calls with the Chief Ophthalmology Resident at Pitt Med.

What do you love most about your job?
That moment when a patient can see a loved one for the first time, especially their child or grandchild – I live for those moments.

If you weren't an ophthalmologist, what would you be?
I think I would be an architect. There are more similarities than one might think. Attention to detail is rewarded and the results can be visually fulfilling for everyone involved.

When you aren't helping patients or doing ophthalmology research, how do you like to spend your time?
I really enjoy traveling and exploring with my family.

What is the one thing that you'd like your patients to know about you?
I'm old enough to drive, I swear.
