LASIK Indianapolis
LASIK is one of the more popular vision correction procedures performed at Price Vision Group, located in Indianapolis. The term LASIK, is an acronym which stands for 'Laser In-Situ Keratomileusis' and combines the accuracy of the Excimer laser with the precision of today's advanced computer technology.
During the LASIK procedure, a thin layer of the corneal surface is lifted, which serves as a protective flap and allows access to the inner layer. After this protective flap has been created, the Excimer laser is used to remove microscopic layers of tissue. After the laser treatment has been completed, the protective flap is then gently replaced in its original position and the eye is allowed to heal naturally. Because tissue removal with LASIK is subsurface in nature, healing time is rapid and the visual recovery process is dramatically improved. The procedure itself, including preparation, can take about 10-15 per eye. The whole visit to our Indianapolis center should only take about an hour and a half. Most patients experience their new and improved vision in less than 24 hours after receiving their treatment.
To gain a more thorough understanding of the LASIK procedure, please contact our Indianapolis office today and speak to one of our refractive counselors. They can also discuss the other vision correction procedures we offer and help you decide which procedure is right for you.
